Penthouse M

District Melk, Lower Austria

Status:

Realized

Type:

Private

The penthouse had everything money can't buy—location, view, tranquility. Perched atop the mountain, with the Danube flowing past the windows. What was missing was an interior that lived up to its location.

The client knew exactly what he wanted: modern, clean, without compromise. No old pipes, no outdated technology—everything new, everything meticulously planned. Underfloor heating and smart home technology were fully integrated, and the terrace was finished with new tiles and a jacuzzi.

The design response to this wish was consistent: light colors, clean lines, minimal distractions. What still gives the room character is the patterned wall—a calming accent that prevents minimalism from tipping into coldness. The sofa and marble surfaces bring warmth and flow to a room that could otherwise have appeared very austere.
