SCANDI House M
Markersdorf, Lower Austria
Status:
Realized
Type:
Private
The house had a rough start. Flood damage on the ground floor, a tight budget, and a clear brief: move-in ready in two months. The couple didn't want a design statement — they wanted their home back.
Under these conditions, decisions are made differently. There is no room for experimentation — every choice has to count. The existing green fireplace was non-negotiable, so it became the starting point. The kitchen picked up its color, and suddenly the house had a through-line.
In the living room, a wood panel wall behind the television gives the space warmth and a calm focal point. Next to it, a reading corner — a bench with cushions, a bookshelf with an arch and indirect lighting. A quiet place to sit, which is exactly what this couple needed.
